The new contollers used with the PS3 is called a ‘SIXAXIS Wireless Controller’. What this basically means is that the controller is motion sensitive (through six axis) and so in certain games you can control the character / vehicle / action by simply moving the controller. So you want to move left, well then you ‘lean’ the controller to the left.
The PS3 only comes with one controller as standard so if you want to have your friends round and take part in some multi player games you’ll have to buy another controller.
The PS3 supports up to 7 controllers and as they are wireless you don’t need to worry about getting tangled wires.
The SIXAXIS controller allows you to control certain actions in games by tilting the controller in the relevant direction, this helps bring an added dimension to games.
So why not buy a couple of extra controllers and invite your friends round.
